The EU-funded H2020 project PROACTIVE led by the UIC Security Division continues to strengthen collaborations with other related EU projects which are working in the field of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and explosive (CBRNe) security.

Once again, PROACTIVE had the honour to be invited by DG HOME to present key outputs during the CERIS (Community of European Research and Innovation for Security) DRS state-of-play and way forward online event which occurred on 14 June 2021.

Also on 14 June, the DG HOME ISFP project EUPROTECT held a webinar entitled “Development of New Solutions for the Protection of European Citizens and Infrastructures Against Terrorist Threats,” where PROACTIVE presented a summary of the work thus far.

At the end of June, PROACTIVE was invited to attend the EU H2020 project INCLUDING joint action in Athens. The joint action was made up of a two-day field exercise at the Piraeus Port Container Terminal and a two day workshop. Lessons learned from the INCLUDING field exercise will be applied to the upcoming three PROACTIVE field exercises. Further, PROACTIVE presented key lessons learned on including vulnerable citizens in CBRNe preparedness and response during the workshop.

Currently, PROACTIVE is working together with EU project COVINFORM on a white paper with policy recommendations about inclusive crisis communication.

Coming up 29-30 September 2021, PROACTIVE is coming together with EU projects TRANSTUN, eNOTICE and MELODY at a joint symposium held both online and in person in Brussels. More information, including the event agenda, can be found at: https://transtun-project.eu/final-event/#intro. Join us!

PROACTIVE will continue to work closely together with the 13 other projects that they have developed synergies with in the CBRNe field.

The PROACTIVE project (PReparedness against CBRNE threats through cOmmon Approaches between security praCTItioners and the VulnerablE civil society) has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 832981.
