Registration is already open for the 5th Training on Commuter and Regional Train Services, which will be held at UIC Headquarters in Paris on the 26th to 28th October. Early-bird rates are available until the 4th September.

After two years of online activity, the UIC Passenger Department is eager and delighted to be holding the fifth Training on Commuter and Regional Train Services, in-person, at UIC HQ in Paris.

  • The course is targeted at people interested in acquiring a comprehensive overview of the commuter and regional train systems
  • Course participants do not need to have prior knowledge of any specific subject relating to commuter and regional train systems
  • Therefore, we wish to make attendance mandatory for ALL sessions. Every participant will receive a certificate.

Our speakers are experts in the subject area and principally work for the railways. They represent different countries, different regions of the world, and the main railway undertakings with experience in the field of commuter and regional train systems.

The programme on the first day, the 26th October, and the morning of the second day, the 27th October will focus on keynote speeches from experts on different issues such as planning, infrastructure, legal frameworks, digitalization, and customer experience on commuter and regional services.

The afternoon of the second day will be dedicated to a dynamic, design thinking workshop.

On the last day, the 28th October attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop on “How to improve the rail’s attractiveness to the younger generation” in cooperation with universities and members of others UIC groups in the context of “the Cool Rail Project”. https://uic.org/events/the-cool-rail-project
